They have had it for over a month now and are still creating bracelets. I have had to purchase more string for them but the foam discs have held up very well. They have also learned different patterns and made their own. This is a great rainy day activity even though my girls have sat on the porch on nice days and weaved away. The Hedbanz game comes with a stack of picture cards, each featuring an animal, food, or common object. This board game comes with everything you’ll need to play. Your group of two to six players will be strapping on headbands, asking funny questions, and making wild guesses without complicated setups and rules.

Ask Questions to Guess Your Identity

Playing Hedbanz is simple. After dealing one card and three chips to each player, take your card and place it in your adjustable headband without peeking. When your turn arrives, ask each player a question about who, or what, you are (“Am I a food?”). If you get stuck, the sample questions card offers tips on the types of questions you might ask.

When you get a yes, your questions will become more specific (“Am I cooked?” or “Did Dad serve me for dinner last night?”) until you’re ready to guess the answer (“I am spaghetti!”). For each identity you guess correctly, you’ll discard one of your chips. If you give up, you’ll collect a chip from the chip bank and be dealt a new card. The first player to get rid of all her chips is the Hedbanz winner.

Educational Gameplay for Kids

We bought this game for our son’s 10th birthday–not knowing what to expect, but the entire family (including our eight year old daughter) really enjoyed it. The concept is incredibly simple. Pick a card, place it on your (supplied) head band so that everyone except you can see it and begin asking questions as to what you are. “Am I an animal?” “Am I a food?” etc. Once you get an affirmative answer, your questions get more granular “Am I a fruit?” “Am I a dessert?” etc. Of course you are free to ask any question aside from “What am I?” The game comes with a sand-glass timer, and if you are unable to guess what you are before time runs out, on your next turn you can either get a new card (and lose a point) or continue guessing what you are. All in all, a very fun game for everyone in the family!

I agree with the reviewer from Virginia that these should be included with every major set because the Legos do fall apart when they have to be transported from one place to another. I also think the boards are somewhat expensive, but at least they’re sturdy and you can connect them with Lego blocks to build bigger scenes.

Clearly Sliver The T-Rex and all his Switch & Go Dino friends are an attempt to appeal to the newer, younger Transformers crowd of kids but when we took him out of the box, the kids had a hard time keeping him away from the adults in the room! We kept wanting to make him say “Fear me!” over & Over again since he’s got such a menacing voice. The control buttons for volume and to change his eye display ar sensibly located on his snout and other buttons trigger the “over 50 sounds and phrases” he makes. Once we got him out of the box, the kids immediately re-configured him into a car to test out all those new racing noises and we lost all control of toy testing! They say the age recommendations are 3 to 8 but I would guess it’s closer to age 5 to 8 for kids and then also fun for any adult male or female that loves dinosaurs or The Transformers. Any child under the age of 5 might get a little frsutrated by how sensitive the buttons on since you barely have to touch them and Sliver the t-rex starts ordering you to FEAR him and other similar commands. This might frighten a pre-schooler whereas it will delight a slightly older childer, possibly provoking endless imitations of his voice!The price point of $15.99 makes this toy attractive enough to want to get some of the others from the same line to encourage interactive play. In Race Car mode, the toys look sufficiently hip and modern with spoilers on the back and other very “Fast & Furious” styling tweaks. It’s a clever toy and seems durable. I only took off 1 star for durability because in just a few minutes, this toy was chnaged back and forth a dozen times and sooner or later, something’s gotta give but I don’t think it will be right away. It’s simply the inherent weakness in transformational toys. Overall Sliver is lots fun and who doesn’t love an over-confident, bossy-mouthed Dinosaur who turns into a car? My favorite line so far is Sliver bragging about his 60 teeth as long as daggers and so what if his hands are small, who needs hands? LOL! FEAR HIM!

I'm not into clutter, but my 17 mth old son LOVES to help his daddy with projects in the garage. So, we bought him this drill which is so close to the real deal. HE LOVES IT. Plays with it every single day! Even my husband has told all his friends with youngsters they need this drill!!! It is great for drilling, but also fine motor skill screwing in the screws by hand, and pushing/pulling the nails. My sister is an occupational therapist and she thinks it's a great toy too! I still don't see how this toy is only $13! It's worth every single penny! One drawback, the drill bits do go astray... may be a good idea to buy two of these at this price! ;-)

This product is scary good. What do I mean by that? Let me explain.With a 4 year old girl and an 18 month old little boy we thought this might be a fun product to try. I opened the box, set it up in a couple minutes and watched the kids start playing, and playing, and playing, and playing.My wife and I were stunned. Both children spent hours shooting baskets. Even my little one was shooting and consistently making bank shots from 2 feet out with the hoop height set just above his head. Fortunately we had a couple other similarly sized balls around the house which prevented arguments over whose turn it was.Both kids were so caught up in the fun and were doing so well that it wasn’t long before the video camera and regular camera were clicking away. My little boy went to sleep that night with his arm curled around the basketball (similar to how he might hold a teddy) because he screamed when we tried to take it away. The first words out of his mouth the next morning was “shoot, shoot” as he stood up in his crib holding the ball. My wife commented that I’ve created a couple basketball monsters.We’ve never had that type of reaction to a new toy and in some ways it was a bit daunting. I’m not sure if our children’s reactions are typical, but at least in this house, this product is a huge hit.

Prior to purchasing, I searched all over to try and figure out the difference between the Ultra Stomp Rocket and the Junior Stomp Rocket Kit. Both products list for a similar price. The Junior version advertises that rockets will soar up to 100 feet in the air and the Ultra version lists a slightly higher height of up to 200 feet. But the age ranges for the 2 products are substantially different with the Junior Stomp Rocket recommending ages 3-8 and the Ultra Stomp Rocket recommending ages 8+.For my 4yo son, we started with the Junior Stomp Rocket. He LOVES it! When/If going outside is not possible, he holds the stomp pad under his arm and points the rocket and shoots the missiles around the house. Because the rockets are all foam, they do not do any damage to walls, furniture, (or mom and dad, thankfully). When outside, my son literally plays with this toy for hours, adjusting and playing around with how hard you need to stomp to get the rocket to go really high.Both the Ultra and the Junior Stomp Rocket kits come with a plastic rectangular “stomp pad” connected to a flexible tube. The end of the tube connects to one of the plastic/foam rockets (4 are includeded in each kit). There is a small plastic stand that you can put together to use as a launch base. Snap the plastic tube onto the base and stomp on the pad. Air is shot through the tube and propels the foam rocket up into the air.We now have both the Ultra and the Junior Stomp Rocket kits and the only real difference I found is in the size and shape of the rocket missiles. The Ultra Stomp Rocket missiles are larger in size and shape. They have a plastic shaft with small plastic fins on the bottom and a large foam head. The junior stomp rocket missiles are smaller and made entirely of foam. Other than that, the launching equipment for both are exactly the same.Refill Rockets for both the Junior and Ultra models come in varying colors and sell (at least on Amazon) for under $[...].Whether you buy the Ultra Stomp Rocket (listed here) or it’s sister product Junior Stomp Rocket, you will be getting a fantastic toy! This toy is so simple – no assembly required, no batteries, just easy to use and loads of fun!I do have a slight preference in favor of the Junior Stomp Rocket, only because I like the missiles that are all foam if you are going to be using the toy inside. Also, the junior version has glow in the dark refill rockets. Really cool for night time use Junior Stomp Rocket Toy Glow in the Dark Refills. For some reason, you can only get the glow in the dark refills in the “junior” size.

My daughter was super pumped when she first saw pictures of Venus McFlytrap a couple of months ago. She loves the Monster High dolls and has built up quite a collection in a small amount of time, and now that she’s started to ship, we’ve been able to add her to the family. Something I’ve been saying about the last couple we’ve bought is that those ones really stand out from the others, thanks to their colors and design. Well, Ms. Venus is yet another one of those- truly unique in her color scheme and with a dazzling outfit to match. It’s easy to see why she’s the most popular of the new wave of dolls. While I like the others, Venus is the one that pops out at you when you look at them on the shelf. And hey, she’s even eco-friendly!Venus is on the standard MH doll body with all the usual points of articulation. Her head/neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, upper legs and knees can all be moved around. She doesn’t have any special features on her body like Rochelle Goyle does. The vines on her legs are separate pieces of plastic and not molded to them. The green gal also has a vine necklace, vine bracelets and a vine earring on her left ear, with green hoops on the right. Even her shoelaces seem to be vines! The makeup she has is very stylish. You also gotta love the lipstick which has some white designs to make it look like the ‘teeth’ on a Venus Flytrap. My favorite feature though is her hair. Pink with green streaks, but the right side of her head is shaved and pure pink. As far as I know, this is the first female Monster High doll to have any part of her head shaved. It feels fuzzy and the color is bold. Very cool! Venus’ outfit consists of a denim vest with an ‘Eco Punk’ patch, black and neon colored shirt with a similar theme, black skirt and neon tights. Her shoes are magenta with green teeth on the toes. Normally I’d think that sticking to a theme this much is overkill, but they really did everything right with her design. This doll is a hit!Accessory-wise, Venus comes with your usual Monster High accessories: a brush, journal and stand, and two that are new. First is an eco-friendly tote bag. This thing is a bit too small to be used for anything, but you can fit super small objects in here if you want. I like the ribcage print on it. Her other accessory is Chewlian, Venus’ pet plant. He’s a cool pet, featuring big fangs, beady little eyes and a mohawk. It’s good to see that as the Monster High line continues, they aren’t running out of ideas for new pets.As usual, be patient and you’ll be able to get her for the standard price, or maybe a little less. Venus McFlytrap only recently started shipping, so while she might be sold out, just give it a little time. The same thing happened with Spectra, Rochelle and many others. Even then, I wouldn’t feel guilty spending a little more than retail for Venus. She’s one of the best so far!
