Giovannini Mirror Syndrome - Conversion Disorder?

Question by pwnmylife: Giovannini Mirror Syndrome - Conversion Disorder?
I was watching an episode of house and they had a patient who had Giovannini Mirror Syndrome. He mirrored the dominate personality around him. Now, I know not every thing on the show is real. So I do not want a lecture about it.

Even so, I was going to do a paper for my cognitive psychology class about it, due to the fact I thought it sounded interesting, and haven't been able to locate anything besides fan things for House. It sounds like it would be discovered under the conversion disorder section of the DSM-IV-TR, but I couldn't discover it when I looked these days.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I don't know anything about the subject but I do know how to research. Your library most likely makes it possible for you access to a lot of scholarly articles and medical journals that aren't otherwise freely accessible to the public. You need to also by no means be afraid to contact somebody for data. One time I talked directly to an inventor and he sent me supplies. Make phone calls and send emails. Far more than likely they will be flattered that you expressed interest if not it's no loss to you.

It's an interesting idea for a paper, but sadly the Giovanni Mirror Syndrome is just a fictional disorder made up for the show.

However, something similar was documented in italy due to damage to the frontal and temporal lobes of a man's brain.
